Happy 2019, Fresno Mindfulness Walkers!
I’m writing to let you know that I am taking a more permanent break from leading weekly mindfulness walks. While I have missed walking as a group since our last walk on December 1, 2018, I have benefited from less time working at my computer.
Since 2014, I’ve spent 2 to 3 hours a week on the computer for FMW — planning walks, updating the map and website, posting photos, and writing reflections. I’ve loved every walk and every walker, and I’m incredibly grateful for new relationships and a working knowledge of the nooks and crannies of Fresno. Practicing active mindfulness for an hour and a half on Saturday mornings healed my mind and spirit and permanently improved my attitude, outlook, understanding, and empathy.
So for now, I’ll be spending my Saturday mornings doing other activities. The FMW website and Facebook page will stay up, so please use these places for comments and conversations, and to connect with other people who are intentional about living fully.
At some point, I may decide to start leading mindfulness walks again. Maybe one day, an email will arrive unexpectedly in your inbox, announcing a Fresno Mindfulness Walk.
I love each of you and love this community that is our home! Thank you for joining me on my four-year journey of walking and discovering! I feel lucky to have met each of you.
